Film Dramaturgy as a Collaborative Art
MIDPOINT is a script development training program for graduating students and recent graduates. MIDPOINT was created to provide support for writers and training for directors and producers to enable them to constructively participate in the development process – a dramaturgical skill that is often lacking due to the traditional system used in Central European film schools where writers, directors and producers study in separate departments.
One of the approaches to script development applied at MIDPOINT workshops is Frank Daniel's unique methodology of film dramaturgy that turns theory into a practical working tool for script development.
MIDPOINT aims to integrate emerging film professionals into the marketplace by facilitating experience in international collaboration and networking opportunities during its workshops.
Who is it for?
Writers and/or directors and producers (graduates or recent graduates) from the Central European region as well as other European countries with narrative feature or short film projects in development.
What will you do?
Workshops include international team work on projects, with each team lead by a professional script analyst, as well as lectures by tutors from partner schools, guest consultants and professionals working in the film industry.
