Viliam Klimacek is a Slovak writer, poet, director, screen-writer and actor of the GUnaGU theatre. He studied at the faculty of medicine and worked as an anaesthesiologist in Bratislava. In 1992 he started devoting himself to theatre. In 1988 he published his first collection of poems. In his novels and poems Viliam uses avant-garde language, children and student slang, parodies, biblical myths and is also reversing traditional motives in literature. In his works he develops childhood, adolescence, love, erotic, life and death, home and world motives. But he also comes back to his memories from his military service, life at the student residency or at the university while demonstrating a happy and playful relation to life. He often uses grotesque and absurdism.
