Mateusz Pacewicz (b. 1992) is a screenwriter/director based in Warsaw. His first feature, entitled „Corpus Christi”, tells the story of a young criminal who impersonates a catholic priest. „Corpus Christi” was a real breakthrough for Mateusz. The screenplay won the Second Prize for Best Polish Script in 2016. In 2018, it was produced by Aurum Film, CNC, Canal +, Les Contes Modernes and directed by Jan Komasa. It will premiere at the 76. Venice International Film Festival as part of the Giornate degli Autori.
Mateusz’s passion for directing precedes his consuming screenwriting career. As a teenager, he participated in directing courses at The Wajda School and NY Film Academy. In collaboration with Agata Trzebuchowska, Mateusz wrote & directed a short entitled „HEAT”, which was accepted by Sundance Festival 2017 and many others. Since then Mateusz has combined screenwriting with directing, resulting in „Best Wishes for The Best Boss”.
