MIDPOINT Feature Launch
A unique training platform for emerging talents from Central and Eastern Europe who are developing their first or second feature films, working with teams of writers, directors, and producers.
We are still looking for 9 feature films!
Moreover, the program is also opened to 4 script consultant trainees who will join us for the 2019 edition, working closely with the selected projects.
MIDPOINT Feature Launch program spans over a year, first workshop being held in cooperation with Trieste Film Festival in January 2019, second workshop will be organized in Lithuania in cooperation with Lithuanian Film Centre in May and the projects will be publicly presented within the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary in July 2019 within the Works in Development – Feature Launch event.
After the final pitch, the joint financial award of MIDPOINT and the Karlovy Vary IFF of 10.000 EUR for the best project will be handed out.
To close the cycle of the one-year program, the co-production market When East Meets West invites all Feature Launch selected producers in January 2020 to offer them the chance to have a follow up with their potential artistic and financing partners during the Feature Launch Spotlight.
Training platform intended for young and emerging talents with projects of professional or graduation short films.
It selects four teams of writers, directors, and producers mainly from the Central and Eastern European region to go through two intensive residential workshops dedicated to script and project development. Tailor-made online consultations follow every workshop according to the need of each project.
MIDPOINT is very proud of its short film alumni projects. Among many successes, let us mention the short film Atlantis, 2003, selected to the La Cinéfondation section at Cannes, or Magic Moments, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
We are waiting for your applications until September 30, 2018!
